Basic data protection provides the ability to secure an exe file against being copied. This exe file can then only be run from an original and authentic master CD or DVD.

Intermediate protection allows you to prevent unauthorised copying of many types of document files, including quicktime video, WAVE audio, jpeg images, Word documents and many more. This protection will also secure the disc from 1-to-1 copying. Please note that this protection is not currently available for DVD-ROM.

Advanced copy protection uses a USB dongle system to ensure your software can only be used by an authorised and licensed person. Your software would be modified so that it can only run when the uniquely prepared dongle is detected in the user's USB port.

Under this system each disc would need to ship with the unique USB dongle. This mixture of hardware and software creates the most secure environment for distributing your data or application.

Intermediate protection is CSS (Content Scrambling System), which is a digital rights management (DRM) system that prevents 1-to-1 copying of DVDs and copying to hard drives.

CSS protection needs to be set when authoring the DVD-Video and the master needs to be written to a DLT tape rather than a recordable DVD. We can author your disc and setup CSS protection for you. Go to our DVD authoring section for more information.

Advanced DVD-Video copy protection provides the most effective defence against illegal DVD copying. This system disallows 1-to-1 disc copying, copying to hard drives, ripping and video recompression.

This protection does not require any setup in authoring. You can simply author to a standard DVD-R and we will do the rest.

Intermediate audio copy protection includes a system
that protects against unauthorized copying and
ripping of music/audio discs. It offers trouble free playability
on virtually all CD/DVD players and PC devices. As an additional
online marketing tool, when the disc is inserted into a PC drive,
an authentication process verifies that the disc is an original.
If it is confirmed as an original it will then allow the disc to be played
on the PC. An automatic Web link can then connect the user directly
to a dedicated Web area where added value material for the disc
can be downloaded or streamed. The statistics are of great value
to any marketing campaign.

Advanced adds a bonus feature to the intermediate copy
protection - we can provide an inbuilt web service which can e-mail copy-protected audio tracks. You choose how many times these tracks can be played and for how long they are playable. This feature provides great cross promotional opportunities.

Additionally, the player can display: individualised song texts enabling the display of the artist biographies, exclusive photo galleries or show inbuilt music videos.

The player can also be used as a secure gateway to online bonus material which promotes the CD as a value-add product.
